Starbird Cardigan Knitting Pattern

$10.00

Starbird is a bottom-up flat-knit cardigan with the sleeves worked in the round. It is knit in one main piece, and then the arm holes are created by separating the front right, back, and front left onto either different needles or scrap pieces of yarn to hold the stitches. The shoulders are sewn together while keeping the neckline as working stitches. The final step in the cardigan is the sleeves. The sleeves are worked in the round by picking up stitches along the armhole. The button placket is knit throughout the main body process. There are no buttonholes written in this pattern. The buttons suggested should be able to slip through the stitches and hold the garment closed. It begins with a 2x2 rib hem on the bottom and then goes into an 8-stitch cable pattern repeat.
